Toronto: City Hotels and Accommodation
The largest concentration of hotels can be found in central Canada, which lies approximately 27 km / 17 miles to the southeast of Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Here you will find a range of accommodation, spread throughout the main districts and along the harbor front.
During Toronto's busy summer months, from June to August, hotels are quick to fill, regularly becoming fully booked. Local festivals also increase the demand for accommodation in and around the city center, such as Canada Day in late June, the Beaches Jazz Festival at the end of July, and the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in August.
The main hotels in central Toronto are modern high-rise buildings, often dominating the skyline, with prices reflecting the quality of accommodation and amenities available. Bed and breakfasts tend to be good value for money, although the best options are often situated outside of the centre.
Hotels in downtown Toronto are particularly plentiful, with notable establishments in this district including the Days Inn along Carlton Street, and the historic Hotel Victoria on Harbor Square. Also worth considering, the Delta Chelsea Inn is Toronto's largest hotel and is situated close to the Eaton Center, with almost 1,600 rooms and suites available.
Further accommodation can be found clustered around the University of Toronto, in the city's lively Chinatown district, in Greektown, and around Cabbagetown, which is known for its Victorian architecture and period hotels.
